Photo Update

At this very moment, Max is asleep, Lucy is watching Wow Wow Wubbzy, and Joe is playing Legos, so I am going to blog as quickly as I can in the hopes of finishing and posting!! Consider this a photo-blog.

ONE MONTH OLD TODAY!! Happy Birthday Max! His cheeks are getting fuller! Keep sleeping, buddy, because Mama needs to blog!

This is how Lucy holds Max, and we've found it to be safest way for everyone involved (namely Max)

Ah, so cute when he is mad!

Joe rocked Max to sleep, and he was very proud of himself.

Lucy loves to put her coins in her piggy bank and then dump them out and start over... could accounting be in her future?

This could have been such a cute picture-- if only all 3 kids didn't have their eyes half-closed!!!

Merry provided Princess Lucy with a tiara while she sat perched on somewhat of a throne in the pool

Max is saying, "Nice to meet you Auntie Julianne. So, here is how this works-- I open my mouth like this, and you feed me warm milk. Got it? Okay, I'm ready."

Maxin' and relaxin'

This a great action-shot! Joe looks like a dancer!

I love her booty! I couldn't resist taking a picture :)

Howdy! Max loves his shirt from Allison.

Silly Max

I think that this picture is funny, but I can't seem to come up with a clever caption. Any ideas?

Don't Be Fooled!

These sweet little faces are not as innocent as they look! My children are teaming up to take me down.
While Max was peeing on me for the 3rd time today, Lucy was coloring on my kitchen floor with markers!
While changing Max into his 3rd outfit of the day, Lucy was being suspiciously quiet. I asked, "What are you doing?"
She replied, "I don't know."
"Lucy, what are you doing?"
"Nuffing."
"Lucy, are you being a good girl?"
"I don't know."
Needless to say, she was not being a good girl, and she is now crying through a time-out.
Max is at my mercy, nursing, storing up for his next opportunity to pee on me.
The good news is that Joe came home from school, did his homework without complaining, and is now playing at the neighbor's house. Who ever thought that Joe would be the easy one? Not me!

The Binky is Back?

Lucy is currently playing with her toys on the living room floor, with a binky in her mouth. What?? Is this a sign that she is feeling the effects of being replaced as the baby?
Earlier this week she wanted to be held a lot. I think her exact words were, "Mom, don't you want to hold me so that I am warm and cozy? Max wants to sit on the floor."
This morning she brought me a bottle and asked for a "baba."
Then she brought me three binkies and asked which one she should use today. I chose the pink one, the one that matches her outfit, and she told me "That's a great idea!"
Hmmm. This could get interesting! Maybe she will finally sleep in a crib!

Quick Update

Hello!

I started writing a new blog yesterday, and I still haven't finished it, but just so that you all don't miss me too much, I thought I'd write a quick update!

We are all doing well. Devon went back to work on Tuesday, and I am adjusting to being outnumbered by Max and Lucy. Tuesday and Wednesday went fairly smooth, but today has been a challenge!! The three of us were in our pajamas until 1:00, my house is a complete disaster, Max wants to eat constantly, I realized at 2:00 that I hadn't changed Lucy's diaper since early this morning (OOPS!), Lucy told my mom on the phone that "Mommy is always holding Max..." and that made me feel like I have to put the boy down and give Lucy some serious face-time, I am out of size N diapers for Max, so I have been using size 1, which are a bit too big, so when I put the kids in the car to go to Target to get diapers, Lucy threw a huge fit because she wanted to play Elmo games online, so she had snot running down to her chin and was gasping for air between her screams and cries, and by the time that I got to Target, both kids were asleep, so I turned around and came home and I finally have a moment of silence :) And I am having a bad hair day.

So, I will continue to learn how to balance the two babies and still care for myself and the house. I'll keep y'all posted on my progress.

My friend Jacqui organized for friends to bring us dinners after Max was born, and it has been such a huge blessing to us! We feel so loved, the meals have been delicious, and it has been fantastic to not have to cook while my body is healing and our family is bonding with Max. Thanks Jacqui! Also, Jacqui took Lucy to her house on Tuesday morning to have a playdate with Hayden, which gave me some time alone with Max. Lucy had a great time!

Okay, I'd better go make the most of "me time" before the kids wake up and Joe gets home from school! Here are some pictures!

Sleepy boy

He's awake!

Lucy and Hayden-- yes, the kids are bundled in mid-May!

My Beautiful Boy

So far, life with Max is bliss :) He is perfect and pretty, and doesn't cause too much trouble!

I wondered how I could ever love another baby as much as I love Lucy, and I was assured that a mother's love multiplies with each child rather than divides, and it is true! I love this little boy more than I could have imagined!

Max is a pretty mellow little guy. He sleeps a ton, of course, and he eats like a champ, and he snorts when he fusses, which is totally adorable.

This weekend Max went to his first little league game, and slept the whole time, and he went to church, and slept the whole time. Now, if only he could sleep through the night...
